Exeter YMCA Job Clubs aim to equip people with the tools and the confidence they need to find work.
We run a variety of job clubs, at different locations, times and for different people, but all offer a relaxed, friendly environment (aided by cups of coffee and some tasty treats!) where people can find the help they need to pursue employment.
Our team assist with job searches, CV building, letter writing and job applications. We also work with each individual to build confidence and self-esteem, improve on communication and identify and address key areas for growth such as literacy and numeracy skills, IT knowledge, benefits advice and budgeting skills to name a few. Frequently through the year we also arrange mock interview days for clients to brush up on their skills and receive vital feedback.
In the last year we have worked with over 300 individuals, of whom over 50% are now in employment, education or training.
Our job clubs take 3 formats: Job clubs for those in supported accommodation, job clubs for ex-offenders and job clubs in the community. Whilst they each have the same philosophy they all have different flavour and help different people.
